White Oak Pastures vs Porter Road and US Wellness Meats
Porter Road is a Kentucky butcher that dry-ages and hand-cuts pasture-raised beef from small US family farms; its cattle are offered a grain supplement on pasture, so it isn’t 100% grass-finished. White Oak raises and slaughters its own 100% grass-fed animals. US Wellness Meats is the closest match: also 100% grass-fed and grass-finished, from Missouri and Illinois family farms. Side-by-side, every shared cut: Porter Road vs White Oak Pastures and US Wellness Meats vs White Oak Pastures.
Is White Oak Pastures grass-fed and grass-finished?
Yes for beef, lamb and goat. Its FAQ says its cows graze year-round and are 100% grassfed, and its Core Values page says the cattle and small ruminants are Certified Grassfed by the American Grassfed Association (Nov 3, 2026). Some cattle are born with a local producer group, but all are harvested in its on-farm abattoir. Its hogs and poultry are pastured and certified non-GMO, with a non-GMO grain supplement. For what the labels mean, see grass-fed vs grass-finished and grass-finished beef prices.
White Oak Pastures shipping and the farm
Per its shipping policy and site banner (Nov 3, 2026), orders in its ground network ship free over 249 USD, and perishable shipping is 15 USD over 149 USD. It ships to the 48 contiguous states by UPS and FedEx, Monday to Thursday, vacuum sealed and frozen with dry ice. A perishable box may only be in transit three days, so addresses far from south Georgia only get express shipping, priced by weight and distance. No P.O. boxes; business addresses aren’t recommended. Optional paid shipping protection covers lost or warm boxes.
Its About pages describe a six-generation Harris family farm on almost 5,000 acres in Bluffton, Georgia, farmed since 1866 and run regeneratively since 1995. It is one of the only US farms with both red meat and poultry abattoirs on site, a Savory Institute hub, and employs 160+ people in a town of about 100.
