Price per pound, every cut
The “middle listing” is the listing in the middle when all in-stock listings for a cut are sorted by price per pound, so half cost less and half cost more. It’s a real listing, not an average.

How to pay less per pound
Buy the cuts at the top of the table: ground beef, organ meats, roasts and bones are where grass-fed is affordable. Bigger packs are usually cheaper per pound (see ground beef by pack size and quarter and half cow prices). Watch for real markdowns, and compare the shipping minimum before you commit.
Questions
How much is grass-fed beef per pound?

What is the cheapest grass-fed beef per pound?
By cut, marrow & soup bones has the lowest middle listing at $10.56/lb. The single cheapest beef listing we track is $3.00/lb (Parker Pastures, “Grass-fed Beef Knuckle Bones”).
What is the most expensive cut?
Filet mignon: its middle listing is $84.92/lb, and the most expensive listing goes up to $170.67/lb.
Why do prices for the same cut vary so much?
Pack size (bulk boxes are cheaper per pound), grade and breed (wagyu and prime cost more), whether the ranch says grass-finished, and each ranch’s overhead. Shipping isn’t included in these numbers and can change the ranking for a small order.
